PARACHUTE REGIMENT (CENTRAL FUND)
The Parachute Regiment (Central Fund), having Charitable Status, is a Regimental Fund held by Regimental Headquarters in Colchester. The "Fund" is controlled by the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment, assisted and advised by a Board of Trustees.
The Fund is used to support regimental activities and to assist all ranks of the Regiment, their families and next of kin, if unfortunate to be killed or wounded in action, training or by accident. The value of such a private Regimental Fund is that it enables RHQ to give immediate financial aid and support without delay at a time when it is ungently needed. This year two battalions of the Parachute Regiment are on active service in Afghanistan and a further battalion is deployed on operations elsewhere in the World. The public's support of events such as "Music on the Green", 24th May at East Grafton, and "Support the Paras", 25th May at Old Sarum, in order to raise money for the Regiment's Central Fund, is greatly appreciated and valued.
